One Black Skein of DMC became...

No idea what I'm talking about? Then click that little label of "Trade" at the bottom of this post and see all the posts in the saga so far.

The fabric is still packaged up and looks beautiful. I'm tempted to keep the Fairy Dust, but I know I already have a cut of it, and this was in trade to keep this trade exercise going.

No idea what I'm talking about? Then click that little label of "Trade" at the bottom of this post and see all the posts in the saga so far.

Three cutters had to be sent, and one made it finally to it's final destination. Without a postmark. One came back to me torn up, with no cutter, and a mangled smeared envelope, so I don't know which one it was, other than I know it wasn't the last one (since that went out the same day that the mangled "we're sorry" package showed up).

Anyway, the knitting needles are beautiful and brand new.

I had someone put a comment in as Anonymous with no information to track back but the IP address (that tracks back to the state of New York). Trust me, I'm not going to go to that sort of trouble to figure out who you are based on an IP address. If you want to take part, then you gotta pony up the contact info. The One Black DMC Skein Became...
...a clover cutter! Just. Like. Magic.

You have no idea what I'm talking about? Then you haven't been reading my blog lately.

Ok, actually it was via the help of pulling the item out of a baseball cap and the USPS for sending the items through. But I like using the description of magic better.

So now I have this clover cutter. Still in the packaging all sealed up. Yes, brand new. What would you fairly trade me for it?

One Red Paper Clip...
...it all started with one red paper clip.

You may have heard about this guy who traded a single red paper clip for a house. Well, eventually it was a house. It took about a year and 15 trades. I thought it was pretty amazing, and I've read his story in Reader's Digest, heard that there's a movie going to be made about it, and have read his blog.

I thought that that was a pretty shrewd deal. And that got me to thinking about what kind of model would that inspire for other people. So I've got an idea. I'm going to do something similiar, right here.

I don't have a red paper clip, though. I do have blue and pink ones, but I don't want to start with a paper clip. And I'll need your help, if you're a cross-stitcher that is. I've got something as common as a red paper clip.

I've got a skein of DMC 310. Simple black cotton thread.

So, comment me your offers (with your email address) and I'll take one of them that's a fair trade, contact you via email for address info, and then I'll send the skein off. When I get the item in trade, it will show up here for the next round of offers. I think this could be fun, I'm not after anything significant, particular or important. I don't need a house, and I'm not being greedy. I just want to see where it goes, if anywhere.

Remember, be honest, and don't trade anything that you don't already have in hand. After all, it's being chronicled right here.
