Well, it's here...

...Christmas. It's finally here.

Yes, I know it's Friday and I should have a meme up, but the questions haven't been released yet, and I'm not waiting any longer. So, if it does get questions out, I'll do them on Monday.

Christmas is finally here, and it's about darn time it got here. I've been waiting and waiting and it feels like it's taken forever. I still have stocking to hang by the chimney with care, and no lights outside the house. Cookies have been baked, the tree has been decorated, and presents have been (and still need to be) wrapped.

But it's finally here. I will get to stop hearing christmas songs everywhere I turn that isn't under my own control, I will stop hearing about getting that special gift for someone you love, and I will be able to get my usual schedules back on track and not be worrying about last minute shopping or about some nutcase hitting my car in the rush to get that last parking spot.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done. And if that means I'm a turkey or a ham in your mind, then so be it. For some reason, I've not really been in the holiday spirit, and I'm still not really there either. I'm excited about the kids opening presents, but that's not what Christmas is about, and I think I lost sight of that this year.

Or maybe I didn't lose sight of it, and it's all the commercialism that got to me. I'm really not sure, but I know I've been surrounded by people who haven't been in the spirit either, for whatever reason. And folks that I know finish their shopping the day after Thanksgiving still have gifts to buy. Heck, my boss went out shopping yesterday afternoon because he still hadn't bought his wife a present.

Ah well... the holiday is upon us and life can go back to normal.

Hopefully.

A most Merry Christmas to you, and whether or not you're not a Christmas observer, I hope y'all have a wonderful, peaceful and safe last week of 2004. I might be here sporadically next week, you'll just have to check to be sure.
