Popular music included things like George Harrison's 'My Sweet Lord', and Emerson, Lake and Palmer's 'Lucky Man'. Chicago had released Chicago III early in the year, and Chicago IV (the 4 LP Carnegie Hall concerts) late in the year... and many other political and social events were occurring, and they weren't all pretty - especially since we were still mired in Vietnam.
