...twas a nice weekend. We hid eggs, DH hid a basket in an almost impossibly high place to reach (imagine a basket perched on a windowsill that's 16 feet up), and we killed bunnies.
Not real bunnies, mind you. A & B went over to MIL's house to see cousins who wanted to play 'Killer Bunnies and the Quest for the Magic Carrot'. We had introduced the game to them over the summer when we went to Oregon and planned to play Bunnies for Easter.
There just seems to be something inherently wrong and yet appropriate about playing a game that involves killing bunnies at Easter. For those not familiar, it's a card game. You are dealt a set of cards and hopefully you have received a bunny card among them. You will place two cards on the table face down and will rotate those cards into active play when it's your turn. Hopefully you will get a bunny card so that you can use things like weapons (to kill other player's bunnies) and choose-a-carrot cards.
All the carrots in the game are special characters too - take off's of pop culture icons. There's a Spock carrot (named Gus) and a Terminator carrot (named Arnie) among them. It's a complicated game to explain, so for those intrigued by it, just visit the Killer Bunnies website. Yes, there are expansion sets to add more cards and make the game much more complex, and possibly longer - it's all about the luck of the cards though, so sometimes games last awhile and sometimes they're over really fast.
Great game... great time had by all who played. And if you find that you're sucked into the Killer Bunnies website and need someone to play with, if I'm around then I'm in...
...and if you're nice maybe I won't unleash the CyberBunny.
